Beaker glass anodes are either platinized or coated with mixed metal oxide (MMO). Selection of the coating as well as layer thickness and layer weight depend on the customer´s application. They have replaceable anode segments which are fixed to a holder and can be exchanged.

Configuration of Anode and Cathode:-

The negative (-) cable is connected to the item to be plated, the cathode.  The Positive (+) lead is connected to the solution electrode, the anode. In this configuration the piece being plated should be rotated occasionally since the deposition rate may be greater on the areas that are facing the anode and less on the side opposite the anode.

Platinized titanium mesh anodes are designed with specific platinum material (Pt) which makes the anodes dimensionally stable for many years. Standard Platinized Titanium Anodes [PTA] and Mixed Metal Oxide coated Anodes [MMOA] are available for said glass beakers. Platinum is one of the precious metals. Platinized titanium anodes are extensively used in Electro Plating, metal finishing, metal recovery processes. They have successfully replaced lead anodes in electroplating applications due to their lower consumption, dimensional accuracy, ability to form precise deposit thicknesses on desired geometric shapes, predictable plating chemistry and ease of maintenance. These anodes can be designed and formed with various geometries based upon the parts to be electroplated.

For high-quality electroplating anodes, manufactured to customer specifications and design, Electroplating is used to coat certain metals with a thin layer of a pure metal, like copper, chromium, platinum, nickel, palladium silver, zinc, gold or any of several alloys. During the process, an electric current passes through a solution known as an electrolyte. The composition of the electrolyte depends on the desired coating.
