Platinum is one of the precious metals. Platinized titanium anodes are greatly used in Electro Plating, metal finishing and metal recovery processes. This Platinised Titanium anode is designed for use in Electroplating Unit. The anode is made from Titanium mesh with titanium tube and pure platinum plating.

Characteristics of Platinized Titanium Anode:-

The anode size is stable, and the distance between the electrodes does not change during the point solution process, which ensures that the electrolysis operation is performed under stable tank voltage.

2. The working voltage is low, so the power consumption is small, energy consumption can be saved, and the DC power consumption can be reduced by 10% to 20%.

3. Titanium anode has a long working life. The anode life has been more than 6 years, while the graphite anode is only 8 months.

4. It can overcome the problem of graphite anode and lead anode dissolution, avoiding the pollution of point solution and cathode products, thus improving the purity of metal products.

5. Increase current density. When electrolysis is carried out at a high working current density, it is preferred to use a titanium anode.

Platinum Plated Titanium Tube Anode for Hard Chrome Plating

Tiaano Platinised Titanium anodes using high-temperature electrolysis. In this process, platinum is deposited onto base materials such as titanium, niobium, tantalum, Zirconium and stainless steels. Platinised Titanium Anodes or Platinised Niobium Anodes (Dimensionally stable anodes) are an interesting alternative for hard chrome plating. Platinum-plated anodes offer many benefits in hard chrome plating.

Benefits of Platinum Anodes in Hard Chrome plating:-

v  Processes with dimensionally stable anodes are almost completely free of lead and therefore considerably more environmentally friendly.

v  Production downtime and exchanges are not required, as with lead systems.

v  Platinized Titanium and Platinized Niobium anodes normally do not change their shape within the usual three-year period of use.

v  The layer thicknesses on the cathodic components are even. Mechanical reworking is unnecessary.

v  The amount of energy required is considerably lower than with lead anodes. In the long term, the voltage difference means significantly lower costs.

v  The reason for this is the anodic oxygen surge, which is much higher with lead than with platinum.

v  Components such as power supply carriers and frame structures made from CuTi can be reused several times. This means that the time taken for the method to pay off is drastically lower when compared with lead anodes.

v  Leftover platinum recovered at the end of the re-coating means that some original precious metal costs are recovered.

 The result: no lead chromate, fewer health risks for workers and no disposal costs.

Tiaano Titanium Based anodes are available for beakers with volumes of 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 and 5.0 liters. Special requests in view of dimensions and shape can be considered. Platinum is the most effective metal for any electro dialysis process due to its current conducting property. Platinum being the most expensive material rational utilization of Platinum for the greater value ensures economical solution. What is Electrodialysis:-

The electro-dialysis process is a combination of electrochemical process and dialysis diffusion process. Driven by an external DC electric field, the anion and cation move to the anode (Platinum covered Anode). Cathode (Platinum covered Cathode) respectively via the selective permeability of the ion exchange membrane. The cation will pass through the cation exchange membrane and the anion will pass through the anion exchange membrane. In the process of ion migration, if the fixed charge of the membrane is opposite to the charge of the ion. The ion will pass through; if their charges are the same, the ion is rejected, so achieves the diluted solution, concentrated solution, and purified solution.

Tiaano manufacturing various sizes and Shapes of platinum covered Titanium anodes for water ionization application. Water Ionizer Electrodes [Anodes or Cathodes] are available with hanging hook, frame or band in the form of sheet, expanded mesh, pipe, rod and custom built. 

The best water to drink is alkalized or ionized water. It is produced by running normal tap water over a positive (platinized anode) and a negative (platinized cathode) electrode. This creates positive and negative ions in the water that are then separated creating two different waters. One that is alkaline (positive side) and one that is acidic (negative side).

Alkaline water is for flushing out internal toxins, scavenging free radicals, and oxygenating the body. Acid water, which is really a by-product of ionizing water, can be used externally for cleansing the skin, cleaning any surface and feeding your plants.

Most good ionizers on the market use electrodes made of platinum plated titanium. Titanium will not dissolve in your ionized water as the cheaper metals like stainless steel does. The ionizer uses grade 1 titanium (as per ASTM Standard) electrodes to be plated with a good electrical conductor. Stainless steel was used for Water Ionizer electrodes in the late 1980's and was found not be a suitable material. Because they did not last more than a few years (maximum 6 months).

Advantages of Platinized Titanium Anodes:-

Platinum has the advantages of electrochemical inertness, mechanical strength, workability and favorable electrical conductivity. However, it is prohibitively expensive.
