What is Hydrogen Rich Water? Why Hydrogen Rich Water is needed?

Water is an indispensable component of human body, but 99.9% of the Earth's available water resources are lacking of hydrogen. The hydrogen-rich water which can help people remove free radical is little. It is because of the hydrogen-rich water's antioxidant properties and scarcity, the production of hydrogen-rich water is necessary.

Electrolysis of water, that is, water generates hydrogen and oxygen through the direct current power. Some hydrogen is dissolved into water in electrolysis process, and the hydrogen-rich water is formed. The water dissolved water has a strong reduction capability. It can neutralize the body's blood and cells of reactive oxygen species (free radicals), remove the free radicals in the skin of the body.

The core part of hydrogen electrolysis equipment is electrolytic cell, while the electrode material is the key to the electrolytic cell. As the anode area is of strong acid character in the process of electrolysis, the electrode must be acid and corrosion proof. How does an alkaline water ionizer work?

A water ionizer works on the simple principle of electrolysis. Any type of water ionizer has two electrodes put into a container having two chambers separated by a semi-permeable membrane. The two electrodes – positive and negative, are put into two separate chambers and current is passed through them. Ionization process takes place on passing of the current through the electrodes. The dissolved minerals get attracted either to the positive or negative electrode and gets stick to their surfaces. Thus one of the chambers will have acidic water while the other will have alkaline water. The alkaline water is for consumption purpose, whereas the acidic water is for disinfecting or sterilizing purposes.

How Water Ionizers Work?

Water ionizers produce alkaline water containing dissolved molecular hydrogen at the cathode (negative electrode) and acidic water at the anode (positive electrode). Water ionizers are plugged into the AC outlet, the power is then transformed to direct current (DC) so that electrolysis can be performed. Electrolysis alone does not change the pH of the water however, most of these devices contain a basic semi-permeable ion-exchange membrane. It prevents the catholyte and anolyte compartments from mixing together. Thus producing alkaline (mild or strong) and acidic (mild or strong) water at the cathode and anode, respectively.
